Hi Achievers, Ramadan is fast approaching and my Muslim friends must be excited to go through the fasting month! There’s a number of things you need to adjust in order to continue training while fasting. However, it doesn’t mean that you have to stop training.
After Iftar, around 7.30 pm
It’s very important to drink water throughout your workout to stay hydrated. I recommend having 1-2 scoop of whey protein as a intra-workout drink to fuel your workout.
After Tarawih, around 9.30 – 10 pm
This is a good time to train because you would have break fast with a meal rich in healthy carbs, protein and good fats. Take note that after your workout you might find it difficult to sleep. This is because exercise produces cortisol and norepinephrine which will keep your body feeling alert. So try and see how you feel.
Before Sahur at 5.50 am
You have to be disciplined to wake up early and complete your training before Sahur. You’ll have more energy after a good night’s rest and meals. This would my favourite time to train because I eat a delicious protein-rich post-workout meal and kickstart my day afterward.
When is your preferred time to train during Ramadan?
